Last night the Netherlands baseball team defeated the Dominican Republic in 11 innings to advance in the World Baseball Classic and eliminate D.R. It was the second time this tournament NED had beaten DR by one run. For some perspective, NED combined roster is paid 0.4 million to play major league ball. The Dominican’s roster is paid 84 million.

Suddenly the top 10 in the MCLA isn’t looking so tough. Especially considering Pitt has vaulted to 18th on Laxpower’s rankings and we haven’t played in two weeks. Purdue is ranked 11th at 1-2 so I’m instantly not as impressed. However, Virginia Tech Michigan State at the end of the month might be the most important weekend of Pitt lax history, ever.
