We received word out of Idaho regarding the Scallywags summer time kits, the top club team in Idaho with a unique desire to be pirates
With facebook captions like: Scoundrels drenched in champagne after setting our boots all over the 2009 Park City Ski Town Shootout and emerging from the depths adorned in champions’ jewels
Its tough not root for these guys, more after the jump, specifically the uniform review and fantastic pictures from the Brawl in McCall tournament
First of all we love the logo and the name. You don’t find many teams named the Pirates or Buccaneers these days, probably thanks in large part to the dreadful pro teams that use those names.
Using Scallywags is above and beyond. Well done.
Here’s where the noise gets real.
Baby blue is nothing new on the club scene. Consider our opinion of the Hobbit uniforms. In the words of the great Shania Twain, that don’t impress me much. But perhaps we’re still blinded by rage that Hopkins decided to switch to baby blue.
The disappointment comes not from recycling a tired club team color but rather the knock off Picasso look of the uniforms.
For the color blind, the inserts do not match up and that’s a huge problem. For example
Something to keep in mind next year guys
Otherwise we’re big fans of the commitment to the Pirate language
Are you cool with the mismatch or do you demand matchy matchy?
